I don’t encourage this as pirating is illegal, but in appreciation of the freedom of information act I feel obligated to tell you how easy it is.

Install:

1. Must use Firefox
2. Go to Download helper and add this extension to firefox. (it will also download youtube videos as well as most any streaming mp3 or video)

To download songs:

1. Find the song in someones post or on your dash.
2. Open the post by its permalink (so it is the only post on your screen)
3. Start the song playing
4. At that moment you will see on the browser toolbar a little 3 colored ball icon rotating (that means it found something to dload)
5. click the little arrow to the right and it will show you a long filename with .mp3 on the end. Click on that. It will prompt you for a save place (desktop, etc)
6. It will start to download but sit in a waiting position.
7. Close out the tumblr song window, it will now dload in a few seconds, or already be done

There you go. Give it a try

But remember that it you like the song and want it for keeps, go to iTunes and buy it to support your favorite artists.
